[they're leaving two very different kinds of footprints - Linneus' are mostly distinct and delicate, except for where the sand has shifted underfoot]
I've a good enough memory for names, once I've tried them. I think swimming... is entirely different.
[and the thought of learning in the open water is a bit disconcerting, actually, given that he'd never even seen the sea before today]

[Mipha looks out towards the water and takes a deep breath--it certainly did feel like there was a certain siren's call to the water, and she's filled with the desire to go diving in and down as deep as she can.
Not that Lance could do that without the proper gear, but maybe at a later opportunity she can show him what she's found under there and how beautiful it all is. As it is though, she just nods in acceptance--to the water!-- and then adds:]
Is there a prize?

Well, apparently I have to dress for it first.
[they're coming up on the little beach-side huts now, selling an array of swimwear, wetsuits, armbands, floaties and other assorted beach paraphernalia. It's all very colourful.]
...I'm not sure entirely where to start.

[Famous last words, brought to you by the blue paladin. He's had reason to believe from some time ago that Lance hasn't a clue about this place. First and foremost, neither of them have been here so far, second: just because he's oceankin it doesn't improve his directional abilities (ie: smelling the lagoon) and third...it's Lance.
That being said, Keith's been slightly more compliant than usual these past few days. Aside from lowkey trying to be lowkey, he's been less fighty -- though he wasn't terribly excited to go on a weird journey through the flona slopes.]
I'm coming.
[Forgive him for not sharing the level of excitement Lance is currently exhibiting. He's clutching either end of his towel, staring down at his feet -- not at all enjoying the art of Exploring In Flipflops. It's uncomfortable and he's getting sand everywhere.]
Five more minutes and we're turning around.

[ Of course she isn't helping, it isn't her fault this guy can't make money in a legal way. Thankfully Lance doesn't know she's also flipped a policeman before.
At least this time she keeps her mouth shut, even if she doesn't look happy about it. Or at least she tries to, but her repressed emotions come from Widget instead. ]
And don't let me catch you again!
[ It's probably for the best that she isn't in the guard. ]

That one is... very bright.
[he means the neon. But he's not very keen on many of the shorts styles - one or two he picks up (not realising they're more womens bottoms) but... well, one doesn't really wander around uncovered outside of one's own bedroom. So it's actually the one-pieces that draw his attention, his hands skimming through the racks and eventually settling on a little seafoam number]
I think this is a little more my colour...
((...I may have gone down the rabbit hole of pinterest for a little bit there.))

[ Athena's hand moves to cover Widget protectively. Phineas Filch may have stolen it from her once, but it only lasted a second and she got it back. There's no way it'll be lost again. Not on her watch. ]
That's it, you better listen to him.
[ Athena shut up... A few people definitely linger, but thankfully most of the bystanders stayed quiet. ]

[Keith spends a bit longer at the split, glancing between the two, internally rationalizing that the more treacherous path would lead them to what they're looking for, especially if it's a difficult-to-find-thing; the alternative leads into...seclusion, he supposes. Either are viable, Lance's more confident in the one contrary to what he's leaning toward...
Might as well follow him, visibly unenthused.]
I don't know if you noticed or not, but we have different ideas about what's cool.
[He's slow to accept, but a hand does leave his towel to take Lance's offering. He could handle this on his own...but whatever. Easier to accept the help than ignore it and turn it into a thing. Hmph.]

It's all right?
[it's not escaped Linneus' notice that most of the men on the beach are dressed like Lance (minus Surfer Bro Shark-Tooth Necklace) - some in baggier shorts, some in tighter pants in a similar material to what he is holding. None of them covered, save for the occasional boxy ("tee") shirt here and there, so... Linneus is sure he's not doing this correctly, by covering up on top. But this is what he likes.]
I'm not sure of the size... is there somewhere I might try it on?
[perhaps he can just wear it out of the store, if it's any good?]

[NONE OF THAT'S RELEVANT. AND THAT'S ONLY A THING THEY SHARE BY COINCIDENCE. LIKE THE GARRISON. Alalala.
Right, Lance is the master of gross water dunes and sand slopes and stupid..summertime fun things. That's why he's subconsciously being allowed to take the lead, that's why he's letting him guide him in a more hands-on way. The path evens out, his hand gradually goes lax...more or less just copying Lance at this point. Mister Leader.]
...No?
[The heck. It was probably the trees rustling or an alienanimal dying. It's a smart distraction, has him squinting ahead, looking up, even glancing behind them.]
It's probably in the other direction.
[In conclusion,,, ,]
